The Role:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented finance professional ready to be the backbone of our transaction processing. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and adaptable Finance Assistant who ensures the efficient and accurate flow of our financial data, directly supporting key business operations. If you thrive on accuracy and ownership, this is your opportunity!

This position is:

  • 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

  • 52 weeks per year

  • £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

What You’ll be Doing:

As a crucial member of the Finance Team, you will ensure our financial data is precise, timely, and compliant. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciliation & Accuracy: Take ownership of key reconciliations and ensure transactional accounts are always accurate and up-to-date.

  • System Integrity: Review and action outstanding items on our systems, including the posting of journals and allocating open items related to transactional data.

  • Data Processing: Efficiently assist with weekly data uploads from our procurement system into our core financial system.

  • Query Resolution: Proactively chase and action any missing transactional items, swiftly resolving phone calls and email queries from internal and external customers/suppliers.

  • Strategic Communication: Maintain clear, timely communication with stakeholders and develop an understanding of how your decision-making impacts cash flow.

What You’ll Bring:

We are looking for somebody who is ready to take full ownership of their work and contribute positively to our team culture:

  • Proven ability to work confidently with large amounts of transactional data, with intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Excel being integral to this position.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to processing data accurately and efficiently.

  • Ability to manage workload effectively, work well under pressure, and adhere to strict financial deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong willingness to take ownership and responsibility for your area of work, collaborating effectively across the wider business.

  • A flexible and highly adaptable approach to tasks and priorities, contributing to continuous improvement within the team.

Commitment to Safeguarding: All staff are expected to share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children/young people. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role.
